Campo Monastery's participatory process
The participatory process has the purpose to develop possibilities of reconversion in order to rethink the former monastery Franciscan in Campo Lomaso (Trento), which was a moral, spiritual and cultural centre in the past. Once the process is over, the results will represent a shared and plural basis that will help to direct the choices on the future of the monastery.
The participatory process is oriented towards the involvement of all stakeholders on the territory: institutions, associations and inhabitants of the valley. The process is divided into three phases: listening to and sharing demands and opportunities linked to the process, their in-depth analyses through the involvement of experts and the development of planning scenarios.
Listening and sharing
During the first phase local representatives of authorities, associations and organisations will be interviewed. These meetings will aim to collect demands, opportunities and suggestions with regard to the intervention.
Detailed study
During the second phase the result of the listening and sharing moments will be put at the basis of a public discussion with the inhabitants of the valley who will work in groups helped by facilitators and experts of the various involved disciplines.
Project development laboratory
In a project development lab, open to architects and engineers, some scenarios will be created starting from ideas that came to light in the previous phases. The designers will work on the elaboration of perspectives of transformation, evaluation of possible integrations of new volumes and the reconsideration of the monastery’s relation with the surrounding territory and environment.
